In about one month time, the Global Sulphur Cap 2020 will come into force and there is still a lot of uncertainty. As a matter of fact, for most Shipping Lines the changeover to new fuel oils has already started in order to ensure that no remaining High Sulphur Fuel Oils will be on board after 31st December.

Global Sulphur Cap 2020 – Circular #2 More than 60,000 vessels worldwide will have to comply by 1st January 2020 with a limit of sul-phur content of 0.5% in ship´s fuels. In order to reach this global target, new cracking processes and yet unknown low sulphur blending fuel oil components will be introduced in the fuel oil pool.

Global Sulphur Cap 2020 – Circular #1 Like all other companies in the Shipping Industry, BREB GmbH & Co. KG is facing the new chal-lenge of the Global Sulphur Cap 2020. Starting 01st January 2020 the limit for sulphur in fuel oils on vessels is reduced from currently max. 3.5% to 0.5% m/m.

BREB GmbH & CO. KG and Boeckmans België com-bine strengths to Maghreb The liner services of ‘BREB Continental Line’, operated by BREB GmbH & CO. KG, and ‘Scaldic Med Line’, operated by Antwerp based Boeckmans België NV, jointly op-erate their services from Northern Europe into Maghreb destinations. After many suc-cessful years under their own flag, both operators will now officially work together in serving the Maghreb countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya.
