WE ARE BREB
BREB GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Cuxhaven, traces its origins to Bremer Reederei Eilemann & Bischoff GmbH, founded in Bremen in 1951. The company combines traditional Hanseatic business values with modern technological and organisational standards. This approach shapes both its day-to-day operations and its commitment to reliability, continuity and long-term business partnerships.
BREB is a diversified shipping and logistics company, bringing together shipowning, chartering, port agency and port logistics under one organisational structure. Close coordination between these business areas enables BREB to provide integrated services across maritime transport and supply chains.
In sea transport, BREB develops tailored shipping concepts to meet a wide range of cargo requirements. Its operations employ modern, geared, open-hatch box-shaped vessels with deadweight capacities ranging from 4,000 to 9,000 tonnes.
Alongside its own fleet and liner services, BREB's chartering division develops tailored transport arrangements across different vessel sizes and market segments. This is complemented by BREB Forwarding, which coordinates and develops intermodal hinterland transport by rail, road and inland waterway.
BREB also provides liner, port and offshore agency services along the coastline from Zeebrugge to Sassnitz. Its service portfolio is further complemented by warehousing and stevedoring operations.
Through Blue Water BREB GmbH, the company operates a joint venture with Denmark's Blue Water Shipping, serving the international wind energy, oil and gas industries across all German ports. Dedicated locations in Cuxhaven, a major offshore hub for the North Sea, and Sassnitz/Mukran on the Baltic Sea provide the operational bases for project execution in both regions

MANAGING DIRECTOR
CAPT. ARNE EHLERS
For Arne Ehlers, shipping is more than a profession. It has shaped his career and provided the foundation for his entrepreneurial experience. As Managing Director of Blue Water BREB in Cuxhaven, he brings more than three decades of experience in the maritime industry.
After completing his training as a ship mechanic, Ehlers attended the maritime academy in Leer, where he obtained his Master Mariner's certificate. Until 2000, he served on vessels engaged in international trade, initially as an officer and subsequently as a master.
He then moved ashore to join the management of Bremer Reederei E & B, now BREB, initially as Managing Director and later as Managing Partner.
Since 2016, Ehlers has overseen the establishment and development of the Blue Water BREB port terminal in Cuxhaven. His maritime knowledge, hands-on operational experience and long-term approach to business management continue to shape the company's development.
